The annual Conference on the Mediterranean Sea Research Celebrating the 50th anniversary of plate tectonics Honoring Prof. Zvi Ben-Avraham.
This year the 6th Annual Haifa Conference celebrates the 50th anniversary of plate tectonics and honors the contribution of Prof. Zvi Ben-Avraham to this field. The Plate tectonics theory revolutionized our understanding of the Earth, thanks to the contribution of numerous researchers worldwide. We are delighted to host their best, from USA, Europe, Africa and Israel. The conference will take place at the University of Haifa on November 15-16, 2018. The first day will be dedicated to lectures and discussions. During the second day, we will go for a geological tour in the Mt. Carmel area.
About the Annual Haifa Conference: The University of Haifa and Haifa Municipality aim at stimulating the public interest and curiosity regarding research related issues. Previous conferences focused on advanced marine technologies and strategies, natural gas discoveries, expansion of the national ports among other subjects.
